Solar Guide to install solar panels before FiTs drop
The news that the Government is to delay a drop to the feed-in tariffs (FiTs) for small scale solar PV systems has been welcomed by a lead generation company who are in the process of having solar panels installed.
Based in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, Solar Guide is an online lead generation business which helps homeowners across the country source quotes from reputable solar installers. In a move that will surely add extra credibility to the service they provide – not to mention help encourage consumer confidence in the product itself – Solar Guide has just been given the go ahead to have a solar PV system install.
A 16 panel 4kWp solar PV array – which is to be installed by CJ Electrical – will soon adjourn Solar Guide’s business premises. The company is to take advantage of the current FiTs of 21p/kWh before the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) implements a series of changes, most notably taking the generation tariff down to 16p/kWh.
"It's great news that DECC have finally confirmed an extension to the current feed-in tariff rates. Not least because it allows us to benefit from the higher 21p rate before the 1 August deadline, after FiTs will fall to 16p,” said Solar Guide’s founder David Holmes.
"I would urge other businesses and homeowners not to overlook the attractive returns systems continue to offer consumers. So if you’ve been considering solar panels now is most definitely the time to take advantage of the delay before FiTs endure further cuts."
According to estimations the solar PV system should help Solar Guide to achieve annual savings in the region of £1,000.
